Sign in or register for an accountNotice is hereby given that, at its meeting on 19 November 2025, having considered the report: Community Governance Review for the Broughton Park area – Report on the results of the statutory consultation and the details and analysis therein of the response to the Broughton Park community governance review consultation, Salford City Council (‘the Council’) determined that the final (and only) recommendation arising from the community governance review for the Broughton Park area was that:
A parish is not established in the Broughton Park area (and that consequently no parish council is established in that area).
The council further determined that:
The outcome of the review is to implement that final recommendation in full, but that no implementary actions need to be taken as a result, by reason of the fact that the final review recommendation does not give rise to any actions that might be implemented.
The reason for the decision to implement the final recommendations in full was to give full effect to the review’s final recommendation, which had been informed by the evidence (including the consultation response) presented to the council.
This notice serves to meet the requirements, under Sections 93(7)(a) and 96(2)(a) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 (‘the 2007’ Act), to publish the community governance review recommendations, the Council’s decision as to what extent to give effect to those recommendations and its reasons for making that decision. This notice also serves, in accordance with Sections 93(7)(b) and 96(2)(b) of the 2007 Act, as one of the means by which the Council has taken steps it considers sufficient to ensure that any persons interested in the review are informed of the community governance review recommendations, the Council’s implementation decision, and the reasons for that decision.
Further details on the Broughton Park community governance review and the associated consultation are available on the council's website.
