Sign in or register for an accountSalford City Council has launched an important public survey aimed at gathering the opinions of local residents and finding out what are their main concerns and priorities for delivering Social Value in Eccles, Swinton, and Pendleton.
As our regeneration plans continue to shape Salford’s neighbourhoods, the council would like all of our residents to complete the online survey and have their say in determining the type of support and improvements that are most needed to develop and strengthen our communities.
The survey, which is available on the council’s website now, is an opportunity for Salford’s culturally diverse communities to influence where the social value for the community will be delivered by organisations in collaboration with the local community.
Social value is where the council aims to achieve the most social, environmental and economic value when funds are spent to make the city a better place in which to live and work.
All major developments are required by Salford City Council to deliver meaningful social value initiatives, which will help to address the issues experienced by residents. This is why it is important for you, our residents, to share your thoughts and visions, and help to define the resources, programmes and services that have a positive impact on our communities.
Councillor Mike McCusker, Lead Member for Planning, Transport and Sustainable Development said: “The regeneration of Salford is a fantastic opportunity to transform our communities and have a positive impact on the lives of our residents and we want the voices of Salford’s communities to be at the very heart of how we achieve this. Creating a brighter future for everyone in our city is our driving force, and that starts with understanding the needs and priorities of our residents. Whether you live, work, or spend time in Eccles, Swinton, or Pendleton, your views matter greatly.”
Salford City Council is committed to a collaborative approach to all social value initiatives, ensuring that all regeneration schemes are a collaboration with our communities, enriched by local perspectives. The feedback collected will directly shape plans and help to deliver significant community-driven outcomes.
The survey is open until 15 December 2024, and residents can access it online. A paper version of the survey can be found at Salford Civic Centre as well as Swinton, Pendleton and Eccles Gateway Centres. It is designed to be quick and easy to complete, so every voice can be heard.
