Playkidds are building a management team to control all aspects of running an established, well known play centre which has been operating since 2015. The role of the general manager will be to work alongside the business development manager and the front of house events manager to provide a service and venue that can be frequently used for events and birthday parties.

The role - What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting weekly to the director(s) with accurate updates on footfall and productivity of staff
  • Updating management accounts using information from tills and online sales
  • Creating training templates for staff to follow and continually monitoring staff progress
  • Greet customers as general manager, show willingness to address any issues that may arise
  • Updating payroll time sheet – sending to accountant and checking payslips once created
  • Understanding all areas of the soft play business so continuous care can be given
  • Work with suppliers to ensure we receive the best produce and prices
  • Set accurate budgets for investment into the soft play (research return on investment)
  • Monitor staff levels and recruit when needed (consider college leavers so plan ahead)
  • Create a fun and friendly environment for staff to enjoy whilst keeping professionalism
  • Help staff with HR issues (know which direction to point them in or help directly if appropriate
  • Manage staff files to include records of absence and monitor holidays
  • Uphold high standards of creativity, customer service and venue quality

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 12 months experience leading a team in a leisure or hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to contribute to all areas of the business
  • Flexible work approach, including evenings and weekends
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and operational best practices
