Course description:

An overview of the themes and principles of EYFS. We will explore how all aspects of the prime and specific areas of learning and characteristics of effective learning fit together to form a framework to inform teaching and learning for children aged 0-5.

Outcomes:

  • Sound understanding of the themes and principles of EYFS and how they underpin quality EYFS Practice.
  • Basic understanding of the difference between the prime and specific areas of learning and the characteristics of effective learning.
  • Basic understanding of how to use the EYFS to inform Observation, Assessment and Planning
  • An opportunity to explore the relationship between teaching and learning.
