Community of Practice – C and L and Mathematics - Reception

Audience:

Reception class teachers

Course description:

To provide an opportunity for reception class teachers to reflect on implementing the EYFS framework (Communication and Language, and Mathematics areas of Learning), including assessment practices. Delegates will take part in professional discussions with other Reception teachers, be encouraged to ask questions, share good practice and network across schools.

The course will include:

• Discussion on classroom interactions
• Formative assessment
• Child initiated and focused teaching
• Discussing Communication and Language, and Mathematics areas of Learning and sharing good practice ideas in both of these areas

Please note we will not be focusing on ELGs at this point in the year but areas of learning as a whole.

If you wish to bring any resources, e.g. floor books, planning, photos etc as an aide memoire to share good practice with others, please feel free to do
so.
