Delivered by:

Audience:

All Early Years Practitioners

Course description:

Greater Manchester Combined Authority have highlighted Physical Development as a high priority in early years. EYFSP data identifies that children across Greater Manchester are not at expected levels in comparison to other children in the Northwest of England, and across England as a whole.

This course aims to train practitioners to become Physical Development Champions who will then be able to cascade this learning to other practitioners within their setting.

Outcomes:

  • Improve professional understanding of children’s physical development and how this underpins later outcomes at age 5.
  • Increase awareness of how gross motor activity underpins overall development for school readiness.
  • Reduce the risk of delayed development through optimising intervention and support at the earliest opportunity.
  • Develop consistency of information and advice as part of our conversations with peers and families/carers.
