Course description:

To provide an opportunity for Reception practitioners to discuss Early Learning Goals (ELGs) before making final assessment decisions for the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP). The session will create a supportive space for practitioners to strengthen confidence, clarity and consistency in assessment through high-quality professional dialogue, shared interpretation of criteria, and reflection on GLD data. References will be made to relevant evidence-informed documentation including: Strong foundations in the first years of school, The Reading Framework and The Writing Framework, alongside the DfE Early years foundation stage profile assessment support materials.

This session will cover ELGS 1 to 12 with some of the goals discussed in further detail.

Please come prepared to talk about your children. If you wish to bring any resources, e.g. floor books, planning, photos etc to support professional discussion and to share good practice with others, please feel free to do so.

Better understanding of the ELGS and EYFSP
