Course description:

The aim of this course will be to help practitioners working with boys aged 0-5 to build on their knowledge of the wide range of developmental skills and understanding that boys need to support their early literacy skills

Outcomes:

• Explore the range of skills and understanding that support the development of early literacy
• Identify potential barriers to the development of early literacy skills for young boys
• Consider a range of ways to support boys early literacy and imaginative skills including supporting parents in the home learning environment, and using the ORIM framework
• Know of and share practical ways to support early literacy skills across a range of developmental areas
