This course will help practitioners develop a working definition of school readiness which will inform policy and practice.

Outcomes:

• To consider what children really need in order to be ready for school
• To reflect upon current practice and develop a curriculum which really does help children on their journey to school
• To review areas of development and think about laying solid foundations for future development
• To enable practitioners to communicate 'school readiness' to parents
