Sign in or register for an accountWe know that it can sometimes feel overwhelming knowing where to turn and how to access help and support. We have tried to make this easy through introducing drop in sessions and workshops.
Neurodiversity Network sessions: These sessions are drop-in sessions. You can attend any session. There are a range of professionals on hand to answer the questions you have and provide advice and support. There is no need to book, just turn up. Please see Neurodiversity Network session information on our neurodevelopment homepage.
Neurodiversity workshops: These workshops are open to any family living in Salford. They cover a range of topics including sleep, sensory needs, communication and learning. They are delivered by professionals from across our services. They are free to book with you deciding on which workshops you would like to attend.
Services: We have two universal services in Salford open to all – Early Help and 0-19 Team. They can provide advice and support as well as signpost where this may be needed.
Early Help: Early Help provides support to intervene early and as soon as possible. They provide support linked to any emerging needs for children, young people and their families. Early help can be at any age and stage in a child or young person's life. You can refer yourself for early help support.
0-19 Team: This team is made up of Health Visitors, School Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses and School Health Assistants. They provide advice and support linked to health needs for all children and young people who reside or are educated in Salford. They focus on health promotion and healthy lifestyles to improve health outcomes. The service can be contacted via the 0-19 Citywide Duty Telephone line on 0161 206 3819.

SEND Activities - Salford Community Leisure – Check to see what is available across Salford. There are a range of sessions across libraries, galleries/museums and leisure centres.
Housing - Salford Home Search - Help provides information as well as a list of Frequently Asked Questions linked to housing.
Contact: This is a charity to support families with a disabled child. They provide information and advice on any aspect of caring for a disabled child, including education and benefits.
Disability Living Allowance (DLA): This can be claimed for CYP who have additional care needs or difficulty with walking which are caused by a disability or health condition. DLA is a non-diagnosis specific benefit, so not having a diagnosis does not mean you cannot claim DLA if your child has significant additional needs.
To apply for DLA you will need to complete a detailed application form. Filling in this form can be difficult for a parent, but someone at your nearest Citizens Advice might be able to sit with you and help.
The Family Fund Provides grants for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people. There website has a range of information on what is available and who can apply.
