Salford Futures provides support to unemployed Salford residents through the provision of work experience placements and pre-employment training and support.
It also encourages local employers to create and develop employment opportunities through the provision of grants, funding and wider business support.
The current Salford Futures programme is being delivered with the support of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and co-funded by the Greater Manchester Commitment to Youth Employment.
The package of support for Salford residents includes access to over 100 voluntary work placements at Salford City Council, which are available to residents of any age and can be delivered flexibly for up to eight weeks. The council also offer a range of traineeships to unemployed 16 to 24 year olds.
We work with a range of local training providers to ensure placements and other work-related opportunities offered by the council and its partners are complemented by an appropriate skills offer and progression opportunity.
To apply for a voluntary work placement, please complete the work experience referral form.
