Under the Hypnotism Act 1952, any exhibition, demonstration or performance of hypnotism in Salford, requires the express written consent of Salford City Council (licensing authority) and must comply with any attached conditions.
An application must be made to the licensing authority not less than 14 days in advance of a planned performance. The hypnotist must complete part of the application and a copy of the public liability insurance (covering a minimum of £5,000,000) must be provided with the application.
