Bank Street and associated streets

Prohibition of waiting, loading, unloading, limited waiting parking places, one way and amendment order 2016

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order will be to introduce:

No waiting at any time:

Great George Street

  • West side, from its junction with the northerly projected kerbline of Bank Street, for a distance of 6.9 metres in a northerly direction.

Bank Street

  • North side, from its junction with the westerly projected kerbline of Great George Street in a westerly direction to its junction with Wilton Place.
  • South side, from its junction with the westerly projected kerbline of Great George Street, for a distance of 48.6 metres in a westerly direction.
  • South side, from a point 66.6 metres west of the westerly projected kerbline of Great George Street, to its junction with the easterly projected kerbline of St Philip’s Place.

St. Philip’s Place  

  • East side, from its junction with the southerly projected kerbline of Bank Street, for a distance of 7.4 metres in a southerly direction.
  • East side, from its junction with the northerly projected kerbline of Chapel Street, for a distance of 12.1 metres in a northerly direction.

No loading at any time:

Bank Street

  • North side, from its junction with the westerly projected kerbline of Great George Street, for a distance of 80 metres in a westerly direction.
  • South side, from its junction with the westerly projected kerbline of Great George Street, for a distance of 48.6 metres in a westerly direction.
  • South side, from a point 66.6 metres west of the westerly projected kerbline of Great George Street, to its junction with the easterly projected kerbline of St Philip’s Place.

Limited waiting parking places:

(Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, maximum stay two hours, no return within two hours) 

Bank Street

  • South side, from a point 48.6 metres west of its junction with Great George Street, for a distance of 18 metres in a westerly direction with a width of 2.7 metres.

One way only for vehicles travelling on:

Bank Street

  • From its junction with Great George Street to its junction with St Philip’s Place in a westerly direction. 

Existing orders are to be amended so as to be consistent with the proposals.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
