Cannon Street area

Notice hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make the following order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the order is as follows:

No waiting at any time

North George Street

  • Both sides, from Peru Street to Cannon Street.
  • East side, from Cannon Street to Silk Street.
  • West side, from south of the southern extended kerbline of Silk Street for 15m in a southern direction.
  • West side, from north of the northern extended kerbline of Cannon Street for 10m in a northern direction.

Peru Street

  • Both sides, from the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 10m in a west direction.
  • South side, from a point 35m west from the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 23m in a western direction.
  • North side, from a point 66.8m west from the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 17m in a western direction.
  • Both sides, from Adelphi Street for 10m in an easterly direction.

Cannon Street

  • North side, from east of the north eastern extended kerbline of North George Street for 165m in north easterly direction.
  • South side, from east of the north eastern extended kerbline of North George Street for 10m in a north easterly direction.
  • Both sides, from west of the south western extended kerbline of North George Street for 10m in a western direction.
  • North side, from a point 5m east of Damask Avenue for 27m in a south western direction around cul-de-sac.
  • South east side, from west of the south west extended kerbline of Arlington Street for 10m in a south western direction.
  • South east side, from a point 28m south west of the south west extended kerbline of Arlington Street for 1.8m in a south western direction.

  • North east side, from Mount Street to Cannon Street.
  • South west side, from north of the north west extended kerbline of Briggs Street for 10m in a north western direction.
  • South west side, from south of the south eastern extended kerbline of Briggs Street for 10m in a south easterly direction.
  • South west side, from south of the south east extended kerbline of Cannon Street for 10m in a south easterly direction.

Unnamed cul-de-sac

  • Both sides, from its north of the northern extended kerbline of Silk Street for 15m in a north western direction.

No waiting Monday to Friday 11am to 12pm

Tudbury Way

  • East side, from a point 10m south east of the south east extended kerbline of Mount Street for 27m in south eastern direction.

Limited waiting parking places, operative 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, waiting limited to two hours, no return within two hours

  • South side, from a point 10m west of the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 25m in a western direction.
  • South side, from a point 58m west of the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 84m in a western direction.
  • North side, from a point 10m west of the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 56.8m in a western direction.
  • North side, from a point 83.8m west of the western extended kerbline of North George Street for 57.4m in a western direction.

Cannon Street

  • South side, from a point 10m west of the extended western kerbline of North George Street for 95m in a western direction.
  • South side, from a point 10m north east of the north east extended kerbline of North George Street for 25m in a north eastern direction.

Introduction of pesident only parking place Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm (2m wide)

Cannon Street

  • South east side, from a point 10m south west of the south west projected kerbline of Arlington Street for 18m in a south western direction.
  • South west side, from a point 29.8m south west of the south west projected kerbline of Arlington Street for 13m in a south western direction.
  • South east side, from a point 44.6m south west of the south west projected kerbline of Arlington Street for 22.7m in south western direction.

Arlington Street

  • South west side, from a point 17m south east of the south east projected kerbline of Cannon Street for 21m in a south eastern direction.
  • South west side, from a point 47m south eastern of the south east projected kerbline of Cannon Street for 13m in a south east direction.
  • South west side, from a point 68m south east of the south east projected kerbline of Cannon Street for 13m in a south east direction.

Barnett Drive

  • North west side, from a point 10m north east of the north east extended kerbline of Arlington Street for 45m in a north eastern direction.

Introduction of loading only bay (Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm) (2.4m wide)

Briggs Street

  • North west side, from a point 4m south west of the south west extended kerbline of North Hill Street for 16m in south western direction.

Parking permits

Residents parking permits

  • Residents will be able to apply for a permit for all vehicles registered to that address.

Business parking permits

  • Residents that use a property as business premises will be eligible to apply for a permit per each business.

Visitor parking permit charges

  • Residents will be able to apply for one visitor’s parking permit.

Carer’s parking permit

  • Residents that require essential care and support on a regular basis may be eligible to apply for a carer’s parking permit. Please
    contact Salford City Council for further information.

Eligibility for parking permits

  • Residents at all the streets/properties listed in the Schedule to this notice who meet qualifying criteria will be eligible to apply
    for a residents parking permit.

Schedule

Properties eligible for issue of resident’s parking permit:

  • Cannon Street: 31, 33, 35, 37, 39, 41, 43 and 45
  • Allendale Walk: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8
  • Barnett Drive: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11

Existing orders are to be amended so as to be consistent with the proposals.

A copy of the proposed order together with the plan and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday. 

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing by 3 May 2019 (quoting ref L/TG/OUT1093/718).
