Chatsworth Road area

Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The titles and effect of the proposed orders will be as follows.

Proposed no waiting at any time on:

Chatsworth Road, Eccles

• North east side, from a point 56m north west extended kerbline of Chilham Road  67m in a north west direction.
• West side, from a point 71m north west of the opposite junction with the north kerbline of Chilham Road for 52m in a north west direction
• Both sides, bus turning area entrance - 6m in an easterly direction.

Prohibition of stopping outside school entrance 

High School and Community College on Chatsworth Road, Eccles:

• East side, from a point 24.5m north west of the junction with the northerly kerbline of Chilham Road for a distance of 31.56m in north westerly direction.

Footway conversion to a shared use, unsegregated footway/cycle track 

The following section of footway are to be converted to cycle tracks under Section 65(1) of the Highway Act 1980: 

Chatsworth Road, Eccles:

• West side, from a point 75m north west of the northerly opposite extended kerbline of Chilham Road for a distance of 47m in a north westerly direction with a minimum width 2.5m.

Chatsworth Road, Eccles:

• East side, from a point 75m north west of the northerly extended kerbline of Chilham Road for a distance of 42m in a north westerly direction with a minimum width 2.5m.

Chatsworth Road, Eccles:

• North side, at the bus turnaround facility at northerly end of Chatsworth Road from its junction with Chatsworth Road for a distance of 45.5m in an easterly direction with a minimum width 2.5m. 

Speed humps on Chatsworth Road 

If no objections are received road humps will be constructed on the lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule below after 12 July 2020.

Chatsworth Road: One Flat Top Road Hump

• The mid-point of the flat top road hump is at a point 110 northerly kerbline of Chilham Road.
• In length of 6.5m and the full width (3.3m) of the carriageway, constructed with shallow approach ramp with 75mm high (+/- 15 mm), and gradients no steeper than 1:15

Existing orders are to be amended to be consistent with the above proposals.

Any reference in this order to any road, street and or other location shall be construed to the name herein and any subsequent name thereafter.

Copies of the proposed orders together with the plans and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be examined at Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays (due to the COVID-19 restrictions please ensure that the Civic Centre is open before attending).

Objections to the proposal must be sent in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or c/o Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor PO Box 532, Town Hall, Manchester, M60 2LA, stating the grounds on which they are made, no later than 12 July 2020 (quoting ref: L/AF/OUT1093/824).

• Chatsworth Road, Eccles, North east side, from a point 56 metres north western extended kerbline of Chilham Road for a distance of 67 metres in a north westerly direction.
• Chatsworth Road, Eccles, West side, from a point 71 metres north west of the opposite the junction with the northerly kerbline of Chilham Road for a distance of 52 metres in a north westerly direction.
• Chatsworth Road, Eccles, East – Both sides, Bus Turning area entrance- for a distance of 6 metres in an easterly direction.
