Cromwell Road

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order will be to introduce:

No waiting at any time on:

Cromwell Road

  • north side, from its junction with south easterly kerbline of access road to the Swinton and Pendlebury Leisure Centre, for a distance of eight metres in south easterly direction
  • north side, from its junction with north westerly kerbline of access road to the Swinton and Pendlebury Leisure Centre, for a distance of six metres in north westerly direction
  • south side from a point 30 metres east of a point opposite the easterly kerbline of Calder Drive for a distance of 51.5 metres in an easterly direction
  • both sides, from its junction with easterly kerbline of Cemetery Road South, for a distance of 15 metres in an easterly direction

Access road to the Swinton and Pendlebury Leisure Centre

  • east side, from its junction with north easterly kerbline of Cromwell Road, for a distance of ten metres in a north easterly direction
  • west side, from its junction with north easterly kerbline of Cromwell Road, for a distance of four metres in a north easterly direction

Cemetery Road South

  • east side, from its junction with northern kerbline of Cromwell Road, for a distance of five metres in northerly direction
  • east side, from its junction with southern kerbline of Cromwell Road, for a distance of 15 metres in southerly direction

Prohibition of Driving

The existing Prohibition of Driving which has exemptions for certain vehicles including public service vehicles will be amended to become a full prohibition of vehicles proceeding on Cromwell Road, from a point 63.5 metres north west of its junction with the north westerly kerbline of Warwick Street for a distance of 12 metres in a north westerly direction.

The road will be kerbed across its width to prevent vehicular use. Cycles proceeding in the marked cycle bypass will be exempt from this prohibition. Existing orders will be amended so as to be consistent with proposals.

A copy of the proposed order together with a plan and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
