Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The titles and effect of the proposed orders will be as follows.
Proposed no waiting at any time on:
Manchester Road, Swinton South:
- South side, from a point 15m west of west kerbline of Dorchester Road to a point 15m east of the easterly kerbline of Dorchester Road in an easterly direction.
Dorchester Road, Swinton South
- West side, from southern extended kerbline of Manchester Road 15m in a southerly direction.
- West side, from a point 37m south of southern extended kerbline of Manchester Road 92m in a southerly direction.
- East side, from a point 101.5m south of southern extended kerbline of Manchester Road 28m in a southerly direction.
Princess Street, Swinton South:
- Both sides, from west of south west extended kerbline of Dorchester Road the 20m in a south west direction.
Proposed goods vehicle loading parking place on
Dorchester Road, Swinton South
- East side, from a point 90.5m south of southern extended kerbline of Manchester Road 11m in a south direction with a width of 2.7m throughout.
Speed humps
If no objections are received road humps will be constructed on the lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule below after 12 July 2020.
Raised junction table
Princess Street
- At its junction with Dorchester Road (13m from south western extended kerbline of Dorchester Road and in length of 13m and the full width of the carriageway, constructed with shallow approach ramp with 75mm high (+/- 15 mm), and gradients no steeper than 1:15
Dorchester Road
- At its junction with Princess Street for a distance of 28.5 metres and in length and the full width of the carriageway, constructed with shallow approach ramp with 75mm high (+/- 15 mm), and gradients no steeper than 1:15
20mph speed limit zone
Proposed 20mph speed limit for all vehicles on the following lengths of road for their entire length unless stated otherwise:
Dorchester Road, Princess Street, Josephine Drive, Cottam Grove, Dorning Road, Windermere Avenue, Thirlmere Avenue, Coniston Road, Rydal Crescent, Ennerdale Avenue, Grasmere Road, Hawes Avenue, Buttermere Avenue.
Proposed zebra crossing
NOTICE is hereby given that Council of the City of Salford, in exercise of its powers under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, intend to place a new Parallel Crossing on
Dorchester Road:
- The mid-point of the crossing will be located 7.5 metres south from the extended southern kerbline of Princess Street
- The Parallel Zebra Crossing will be 6.3 metres in width, 9 metres in length with zig–zags extending to 18.9 metres north and 7.84 metres south of the mid-point of the crossing.
Footway conversion to a shared use, unsegregated footway/cycle track
The following section of footway are to be converted to cycle tracks under Section 65(1) of the Highway Act 1980:
Dorchester Road, Swinton South:
- Both sides, from south eastern extended kerbline of Princess Street for a distance of 12.5m in a southerly direction with a minimum width 2.5 metres.
Princess Street, Swinton South:
- Both sides, from west of south western extended kerbline of the Dorchester Road for a distance of the 20.5 metres in a south westerly direction with a minimum width 2.5 metres.
Existing orders are to be amended to be consistent with the above proposals.
Any reference in this order to any road, street and or other location shall be construed to the name herein and any subsequent name thereafter. Copies of the proposed orders together with the plans and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the orders may be examined at Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays (due to the COVID-19 restrictions please ensure that the Civic Centre is open before attending).
