Traffic regulation order: Greencourt Drive and School Street at Peel Hall Primary School

Notice is hereby given that on 16 February 2026 Salford City Council made the following Orders under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

The effect of the Orders, is to introduce on an experimental basis for a period of up to 18 months the following:

City of Salford (Peel Hall Primary School) (Experimental) (Prohibition of Driving During School Term Time) (Except Cycles and Permit Holders) Order 2026 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce Prohibition of Driving on: 

  • Greencourt Drive, Little Hulton, Manchester - For its entire length

The following properties will be eligible to apply for parking permits. 1–21 (inclusive) Greencourt Drive, Little Hulton, Manchester, M38 0BZ. 

City of Salford (Greencourt Drive and Parkway) (Experimental) (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading/Unloading) Order 2026 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following restrictions. No Waiting and No Loading/Unloading at any time on: 

Greencourt Drive

  • Both sides from southern extended kerbline of Parkway for a distance of 15 metres in a southerly direction. 

Parkway

  • Southern side, from a point 15 metres west from the western extended kerbline of Greencourt Drive to a point 15 metres east from the eastern extended kerbline of Greencourt Drive. 

City of Salford (Parkway, Salford) (Experimental) (20MPH Speed Limit) Order 2026 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 20MPH Speed Limit on the following lengths of road: 

Parkway

  • From Peel Lane to Alderbrook Road. Existing restrictions will be suspended for the duration of the Experimental Orders. 

The Orders will come into operation on 27 February 2026. Copies of the Orders together with a plan showing the roads to which they relate and a Statement of the council's Reasons for making the Orders may be inspected at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be requested via the email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the postal addresses below. 

The council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the com-ing into force of the Orders or if the Orders are subsequently varied or amended from the coming into force of the variation or modification (whichever is the latter) any per-son may object to the indefinite continuation of the provisions of the Order. Any person wishing to object should submit their grounds of objection in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk  or the address below no later than 27 August 2026. 

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision con-tained in them on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks from 16 February 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose, quoting ref L/GS/SCC006/01363.
