Greengate West and Bridgewater Street area

Salford City Council proposed to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The title and effects of the Order is as follows:

City of Salford (Greengate West, Bridgewater Street and Surrounding Streets in Blackfriars and Trinity) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment) Order 2025

The effect of the proposed Order will be to introduce the following provisions:

No Waiting At Any Time on: 

Greengate West 

• North side, from its junction with the north-easterly projected kerbline of Blackfriars Road to its junction with Bridgewater Street.
• South side, from the north-easterly projected kerbline of Blackfriars Road for 19.5m in an easterly direction.
• South side, from a point 36m east of the north-easterly projected kerbline of Blackfriars Road, for 27m in an easterly direction.    
• South side, from a point 99m east of the north-easterly projected kerbline of Blackfriars Road, for 50.3m in an easterly direction.

Bridgewater Street

• Both sides, from the northerly projected kerbline of Greengate West, for 15m in a northerly direction.
• West side, from a point 10m south of the southerly projected kerbline of Change Way, to a point 29.4m north of the northerly projected kerbline of Change Way.

Twillbrook Drive

• Both sides, from the eastern projected kerbline of Poplin Drive, up to and including its cul-de-sac end.

Poplin Drive

• East side, from the southern projected kerbline of Twillbrook Drive, for 5m in a southerly direction.

Georgette Drive

• East side, from the northern projected kerbline of Twillbrook Drive, for 5m in a northerly direction.

Dean Road

• North side, from its junction with Springfield Lane, to its junction with Rope Walk.
• South side, from its junction with the westerly projected kerbline of Springfield Lane, for 21m in a westerly direction.
• South side, from its junction with the easterly projected kerbline of Rope Walk, for 5.6m in an easterly direction.
• South side, from a point 33m east of the easterly projected kerbline of Rope Walk, for 6.6m in an easterly direction.

Anaconda Drive

• North-west side, from a point 10m north of the northerly projected kerbline of Greengate West, to a point 51.9m from the north-easterly projected kerbline of Carding Grove in an easterly then northerly direction.
• Both sides, from the cul-de-sac end, for 23m in a southerly direction.

Carding Grove

• Both sides, from the north-westerly projected kerbline of Anaconda Drive, for 10m in a north-westerly direction.

Change Way

• North side, from the westerly projected kerbline of Bridgewater Street, for 58.8m in a westerly then south-westerly direction.
• South side, from the westerly projected kerbline of Bridgewater Street, up to and including the cul-de-sac end.
• South-west side, from the cul-de-sac end for 20m in a north-westerly direction.

No Waiting between 10am to 4pm on Monday to Friday on: 

Bridgewater Street

• West side, from a point 15 metres north of the northerly projected kerbline of Greengate West, to a point 10 metres south of the southerly projected kerbline of Change Way.
• East side, from a point 15 metres north of the northerly projected kerbline of Greengate West, to the southerly projected kerbline of East Philip Street.

Carding Grove

• Both sides, from a point 10m north-west of the north-westerly projected kerbline of Anaconda Drive, up to and including its cul-de-sac end.

Anaconda Drive

• West side, from a point 51.9m east then north of the north-easterly projected kerbline of Carding Grove, to a point 23m south of the cul-de-sac end.
• South east, south and then east side, from a point 10m north of the northerly projected kerbline of Greengate West, to a point 23m south of the cul-de-sac end.

Change Way

• North-west then west side, from a point 58.8m south-west of the westerly projected kerbline of Bridgewater Street, to a point 20m north-west of the cul-de-sac end.

Twillbrook Drive

• Both sides, from the easterly projected kerbline of Bridgewater Street to the westerly projected kerbline of Poplin Drive.

Poplin Drive

• West side, from the southerly projected kerbline of Twillbrook Drive, up and including its cul-de-sac end.
• East side, from a point 5m south of the southerly projected kerbline of Twillbrook Drive, to its cul-de-sac end.

Georgette Drive

• East side, from a point 5m north of the northerly projected kerbline of Twillbrook Drive, to its cul-de-sac end.
• West side, from the northerly projected kerbline of Twillbrook Drive, to its cul-de-sac end.

Existing Orders are to be amended so as to be consistent with the proposals. 
 
A copy of the Order, a plan and the statement of the council’s reasons for proposing to make the above Order will be available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
