Liverpool Street area

Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The title and effects of the orders will be as follows:

Proposed no waiting at any time on:

Cow Lane 

  • South side from the north western extended kerbline of Craven Street for a distance of 15m in a south westerly direction.
  • South side from the north eastern extended kerbline of Craven Street for a distance of 15m in a north easterly direction.
  • North side from a point 4.15m opposite extended kerbline of Craven Street for a distance of 8m in a north easterly direction around the kerb.

Craven Street

  • From a point 10m north west of the north western kerbline of Liverpool Street, in a north westerly direction for a distance of 32m.

Proposed prohibition of stopping at all times on:

  • Liverpool Street - From Liverpool Street’s junction with A5066 Oldfield Road to the junction with A5063 Albion Way.
  • West Dean Street (Barlow Road) - From the projection of the south eastern kerbline of Liverpool Street into West Dean Street (Barlow Road) for a distance of 6m.
  • Blackburn Place - From the projection of the south eastern kerbline of Liverpool Street into Barlow Road for a distance of 6m.
  • Blucher Street - From the projection of the north western kerbline of Liverpool Street into Blucher Street for a distance of 12m.
  • Brunel Avenue - From the projection of the north western kerbline of Liverpool Street into Brunel Avenue for a distance of 20m.
  • Clare Street - From the projection of the south eastern kerbline of Liverpool Street into Clare Street for a distance of 6m.
  • Cranbourne Street - From the projection of the south eastern kerbline of Liverpool Street into Barlow Road for a distance of 6m.
  • Craven Street - From the projection of the north western kerbline of Liverpool Street into Craven Street for a distance of 10m.
  • Muslin Street - From the projection of the north western kerbline of Liverpool Street into Muslin Street for a distance of 12m.
  • West Charles Street - From the projection of the north western kerbline of Liverpool Street into West Charles Street for a distance of 15m.
  • West Egerton Street - From the projection of the south eastern kerbline of Liverpool Street into West Egerton Street for a distance of 15m.
  • Windsor Street - From the projection of the south eastern kerbline of Liverpool Street into Windsor Street for a distance of 10m.

Proposed one way traffic on:

  • Craven Street – From Craven Street’s junction with Cow Lane in a south easterly direction to its junction with Liverpool Street.

Introduction of 20 mph speed limit zone

The order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the following roads for their entire length unless otherwise stated:

  • Blucher Street
  • Brunel Avenue
  • Canal Street
  • Cow Lane
  • Craven Street
  • Joiner Street
  • Hope Street
  • Muslin Street
  • West Charles Street
  • West Hope Street

Copies of the proposed orders, plans of the area and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the above orders may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (due to the COVID-19 restrictions, please ensure that the Civic Centre is open before attending). Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be viewed at Unity House, Swinton, M27 5FJ.

The plan will be displayed to the left of the main (and only public) entrance to the building, adjacent to the public car park at the Civic Centre. If you are unable to attend, a copy of the plan may be requested (without payment) by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or writing to the address at the end of this notice.
