Proposed Road Humps on Longhsaw Drive

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to construct road humps in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below. If no objections are received, road humps will be constructed on the lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule below, after 10 March 2025. 

Schedule

Speed Cushions

Speed Cushions 75mm high (+/- 15mm), with approach ramps with gradients no steeper than 1:10, for the full width of the carriageway.

Longshaw Drive:

  • At a point 20.7m north west of the southeastern extended kerb line of County Road to the centre of cushions.
  • Outside Little Hulton Family Hub and Nursery, at a point 77.5m south east of the southeastern extended kerb line of County Road to the centre of cushions.
  • Outside numbers 91 / 93, approximately 166.9m south east of the southeastern extended kerb line of County Road to the centre of cushions.
  • Outside numbers 92 / 94, approximately 225.4m south east of the southeastern extended kerb line of County Road to the centre of cushions.
  • Outside numbers 102 / 104, approximately 295.7m south east of the southeastern extended kerb line of County Road to the centre of cushions.
  • Outside numbers 129 / 131, approximately 76.4m north east of the northeastern extended kerb line of engine Fold Road to the centre of cushions.
  • Outside numbers 165, approximately 21m north east of the northeastern extended kerb line of Gibson Lane to the centre of cushions.
  • At a point 26.7m North of the northern extended kerb line of Madams Wood Road to the centre of cushions.

Flat Top Road Humps

Flat Top Road Humps: 75mm high (+/- 15mm), with approach ramps with gradients no steeper than 1:10, for the full width of the carriageway. 

Longshaw Drive:

  • starting at a point 33m south west of the south western extended kerbline of Engine Fold Road in a north easterly direction to a point 16.7m north east of the northeastern extended kerb line of Engine Fold Road.

City of Salford (Longshaw Drive and Surrounding Areas) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2025 

The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time:

Longshaw Drive:

  • Southwest side from a point 20m northwest of the north western extended kerbline of Town Lane, in a south easterly direction to a point 20m south east of the south eastern extended kerb line of Town Lane
  • Northwest side from a point 8.5m southwest of the southwestern extended kerb line of Engine Fold Road in a south westerly direction for 24.8m,
  • Southeast side from a point 22m southwest of the southwestern extended kerb line of Engine Fold Road, in a north easterly direction, to a point 10m north east of the north eastern extended kerb line of Engine Fold Road.

Town Lane:

  • Both sides from southern western extended kerb line of Longshaw Drive, in a south westerly direction for 10m.
  • Both sides from its Cul-de-sac end in a north easterly direction for 23m including car park bell mouth on east side of road.

Speakman Road:

  • Both sides from its Cul-de-sac end in a south easterly direction for 28m, including all of the turning head on the Northeast side.

Engine fold Road:

  • From the southeastern extended kerb line of Longshaw Drive in a south easterly direction for a distance of 10m.

City of Salford (Longshaw Drive and Surrounding Areas) (20 Mph Speed Limit Zone) Order 2025 

The Order shall introduce 20MPH Speed limit on the following roads for their entire length unless otherwise stated under the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 on:

  • Longshaw Drive
  • Gibson Lane
  • Engine Fold Road
  • Gibson Grove
  • Smithfold Lane
  • Gatehouse Road
  • Crestfold
  • Town Lane
  • Sawney Crescent
  • Speakman Road
  • Haigh Close
  • County Road
  • Haysbrook Avenue
  • Brakesmere Grove
  • Bowfell Close
  • Hulton District Centre Service Road.

City of Salford (Various Primary School Entrances) (Prohibition of Stopping Outside School Entrance) Order 2025

The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Stopping on School Entrance Markings Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm:

Longshaw Drive (Star Salford Academy):

  • From a point 8.5m southwest of the southwestern extended kerb line of Engine Fold Road, in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 25.5 metres,
  • From a point 17.7m northeast of the of the southwestern extended kerb line of Engine Fold Road, in a northeasterly direction for a distance of 25.5 metres.

Longshaw Drive (Little Hulton Nursery):

  • Northeast side from a point 63 metres southeast of the southeastern extended kerb line of County Road on a southeasterly direction for 26.3 metres.
