Notice of modification

Notice is hereby given that seven days from date of this notice, 15 March 2018, Salford City Council is to modify the following experimental orders under section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The below orders are modified by the following:

1. City of Salford (Various Streets, Kersal Area) (Prohibition of Waiting) (Experimental) Order 2017

The above order will reduce the following prohibitions on:

  • Wensley Road east side from its junction with the northern kerbline of Moor Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 15.5m. This will be reduced to Wensley Road east side from its junction with the northern kerbline of Moor Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 9.5m.
  • Moor Lane south side from its junction with the western kerbline of Mesnefield Road in a westerly from a distance of 41m to a point 68m west of the kerbline of Mesnefield Road. This will be reduced to Moor Lane south side from its junction with the western kerbline of Mesnefield Road in a westerly from a distance of 45.5m to a point 68m west of the kerbline of Mesnefield Rd.

The above order will be amended the above order to include the following lengths of road:

  • Moor Lane - north side from a point 15.4m east of the eastern extended kerbline of Nevile Road to a point 34.9m east of the eastern projected kerbline of Nevile Road.
  • Kersal Road west side from a point 82.5m north of the northern extended kerbline of Moor Lane to a point 135.5m north of the northern projected kerbline of Moor Lane.

To introduce no loading during event times on:

  • Moor Lane south side from 10m west of the western kerb line of Nevile Road to a point 11.5m east of the eastern kerb line of Moorside Road. South side from a point 10m west of the western kerb line of Moorside Road to a point 242m west of the eastern kerb line of Moorside Road. South side from a point 272m west the western kerb line of Moorside Road to a point 97m east of the eastern kerb line of Oaklands Road.
  • North side from a point 20m west of the centre line of Heathland Road to a point 150m west of the centre line of Heathland Road. North side from a point 282m west of the west kerb line of Moorside Road to a point 232m west of its junction with the west kerb line of Moorside Road.
  • North side from a point 15m west of its centre line junction with Heathland Road in a westerly direction to a point 77.8m west of its centre line junction with Heathland Road.

2. City of Salford (Moor Lane, Salford, Kersal) Prohibition of Waiting During Event Times) (Experimental) Order 2017

The above order will extend the prohibition to include the following:

  • Moor Lane - north side from a point 15m west of its centre line junction with Heathland Road in a westerly direction to a point 77.8 metres west of its centre line junction with Heathland Road.

3. City of Salford (Moor Lane, Kersal) (Limited Waiting Parking Places During Event Times) (Experimental) Order 2017

To reduce the limited waiting parking places with 2m width. 1 hour no return within two hours on:

  • Moor Lane - north side from its junction with the extended with the extended western kerbline of Moorside Road in a westerly direction from a distance of 145m to a point 75m west of the western extended kerbline of Moorside Road.
  • North side from its junction with the extended eastern kerbline of Moorside Road in an easterly direction from a distance of 92.5m to a point 26m east of the eastern extended kerbline of Moorside Road.

4. City of Salford (various streets, Kersal area) (residents parking) (experimental) Order 2017

To introduce residents parking during event times on Mesnefield Road - both sides for the full length and width of the road unless otherwise stated.

The properties eligible for parking permits are listed in the schedule to this notice.

Event times mean 12pm to 7pm (for matches commencing at 3pm) and 5pm to 11pm (for matches commencing at 7.45pm) any day on ‘match days’ held at the Salford City Football Stadium.

The order provides, subject to the provisions of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) that a specified officer of the authority or some person authorized in that behalf by them, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police for Greater Manchester, may modify the orders if it appears to them essential; (a) in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic, (b) in the interests of providing suitable and adequate on street parking facilities, or (c) for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the order runs.

If the provisions of the modified order continue in operation for a period of not less than six months, the council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the orders should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by means of an order under the Act.

A copy of this notice, copies of the orders together with the plans showing the roads to which they relate and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, 

Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

All the properties in the following streets unless otherwise stated are eligible for a residents parking permit:

  • Mesnefield Rd, Kersal Vale Court and Moor Lane even numbers 14 to 226, odd numbers 137 to 147.
