Old Lane Development, Little Hulton (Arley Street)

Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The titles and effect of the orders will be as follows:

The City of Salford (Old Lane, Little Hulton) (Prohibition of Waiting and Amendment) Order 2021.

No waiting at any time on:

Old Lane

  • North east side from 10m south east of the south extended kerbline of Arley Street, Northern access, north west for 25.5m
  • 10m south east of the south extended kerbline of Arley Street, south access, north west for 25.5m
  • From the north west extended kerbline of Clegg’s Lane, north west for 22.5m.
  • South west side from 10m south east of the south extended kerbline of Hope Hey Lane, north west for 25.5m
  • South west side from north west extended kerbline of Clegg’s Lane, north west for 15m.

Arley Street

  • Both sides, north access off Old Lane, from north east kerbline of Old Lane north east for 10m
  • Both sides, south access off Old Lane, from north east kerbline of Old Lane north east for 10m.

Hope Hey Lane

  • Both sides, from south west kerbline of Old Lane south west for 15m.

The City of Salford (Captain Fold Road Area, Little Hulton) (Introduction of New 20mph Speed Limit) Order 2007 (Amendment No.1) Order 2021

Under Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Various and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

The purpose of the order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on the following road for its entire length unless otherwise stated:

  • Arley Street 

Highways Act 1980 - section 90A and Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999

Proposed road humps on Old Lane and Arley Street, Little Hulton

Salford City Council proposes to construct road humps in the length of road specified in the schedule below. If no objections are received by 9 September 2021 road humps will be constructed as detailed in the schedule.

Schedule

Flat top road humps, 75mm high (+/- 15mm), minimum of 10m long and the full width of the carriageway from the kerb line, constructed with shallow approach ramps, with gradients no steeper than 1:15.

1 Flat top road hump no less than 15m, 75mm high (+/- 15mm on:

Old Lane

  • 61m north west of its junction with Clegg’s Lane north western kerbline

3 Table top road humps not less than 20m, 75mm high on:

Old Lane 

  • 141m north west of its junction with Clegg’s Lane’s north western kerbline
  • 249m north west of its junction with Clegg’s Lane’s north western kerbline

Arley Street 

  • 57m north east of its junction with Old Lane’s north eastern kerbline

A copy of the proposed order, a plan of the area and showing the location of the road humps and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
