Traffic regulation order: Peel Green Active Travel Scheme

Salford City Council is proposing to introduce the Peel Green Active Travel Scheme, which would enhance cycling and walking infrastructure along a section of Liverpool Road in Peel Green by establishing cycling facilities on both sides of the carriageway from Brookhouse Avenue, down Liverpool Road and up to the junction with Alan Henning Way.

This will require removal of one of the two northeast bound traffic lanes. The proposal retains one north east bound traffic lane within the extents of the scheme stated above. This will require the variation of the relative widths of the carriageway and footway, and the Cycle Track will be established alongside the footway. Cycle Lane provision will be established on lengths of the carriageway to create a continuous cycle route.

Full details of the proposed No Waiting at Any Time restrictions, along with related proposed Road Humps, Pedestrian Crossings, and Cycle Track and Cycle Lane provisions, which are detailed in separate Notices, are shown on the Scheme plan.
