Rake Lane and Lumns Lane area

Application for the stopping up of highway in the Rake Lane and Lumns Lane area, Salford

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Crown Square, Manchester on Thursday 18 May 2023 at 9.45am for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping-up of the section of highway specified in the Schedule hereto on the grounds that it is unnecessary.

A plan showing the said highways may be inspected, without payment at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm inclusive. If you are unable to attend, a copy of the plan may be requested (without payment) by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or writing to the address at the end of this notice. Any person intending to attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform me in writing to the address below or email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk, quoting reference L/GS/OUT1094/308 before the date of the hearing.

An irregularly shaped area of highway verge forming part of the south east side of Rake Lane:

  • north east of its the junction with Lumns Lane, Clifton
  • adjacent to the property number 1 Lumns Lane
  • approximately 40 metres in length and varying between 0 and approximately 4.7 metres in width with an overall area of 152 metres squared
  • located between Grid Reference 79184 02768 at its northerly extent and Grid Reference 79155 02721 at its southerly extent
  • shown edged black on the plan that can be downloaded below
