Salford combinined speed limit order - various roads

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council made the following order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

City of Salford (Speed Limits) (Various Roads, Salford) Order 2018

The effect of the proposed Orders will be:

(i) to consolidate into the Order the existing on street 40mph speed limits for the following roads:

1. Cadishead Way (A57), Irlam from a point 168 metres north of the roundabout with Towngate Way to a point 122 metres north of the northern kerbline of Fairhills Road (B5311).
2. Regent Road (A57) from The M602 motorway to The Salford City Council/Manchester City Council boundary.
3. A57 / M602 roundabout from The roundabout connecting M602 motorway, Albion Way (A5063), Regent Road (A57), Trafford Road A5063) and Eccles New Road (A57).
4. Broad Street (A6 / A580) from a point 50 metres north west of the projected north western kerbline of Strawberry Road to East Lancashire Road (A580).
5. East Lancashire Road (A580) from Broad Street (A580) to The Salford City Council / Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council boundary.
6. Broad Street (A6) north west bound 'on' slip road from Its junction with the A6 / A576 Pendleton Roundabout to the point where it joins the north west bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6).
7. Eccles Old Road (A576) from Its junction with Broad Street (A6) north west bound ‘on’ slip road to a point 20 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Nursery Street.
8. Broad Street (A6) south east bound 'off’ slip road from Its junction with the south east bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6) to a point 56 metres south east of its junction with the south east bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6).
9. Broad Street (A6) south east bound 'off’ slip road to Charles Street from Its junction with the south east bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6) to a point 55 metres south east of its junction with the south east bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6).
10. Broad Street (A6) north west bound ‘off' slip road from Its junction with the north west bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6) to a point 105 metres south east of the south eastern (outer) kerbline of the A6 / A666 Roundabout.
11. The Broad Street (A6) south east bound ‘on’ slip road from a point 30 metres south east of the eastern (outer) kerbline of the A6 / A666 Roundabout to the point where it joins the south east bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6).
12. East Lancashire Road (A580) north west bound ‘on’ slip road from a point 120 metres north west of the south west (outer) kerbline of the A6 / A666 roundabout to the point where it joins the west bound carriageway of East Lancashire Road (A580).
13. East Lancashire Road (A580) north east bound ‘off’ slip road from Its junction with the east bound carriageway of East Lancashire Road (A580) to a point 35 metres south west of the Manchester Road Gyratory (A6).
14. Bolton Road (U) north west bound ‘off’ slip road from Its junction with the north west bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6) to Its junction with Halton Bank.
15. Centenary Way (A576) from The Salford City Council / Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council boundary at the Manchester Ship Canal to Its junction with A576 Gilda Brook Road / Lankro Way (Canal Circle), including Centenary Circle.
16. Albion Way (A5063) from Its junction with Broad Street (A6) / The Crescent (A6) to The roundabout connecting M602 motorway, Albion Way (A5063), Regent Road (A57), Trafford Road A5063) and Eccles New Road (A57).
17. Albion Way (A5063) south bound ‘on’ slip road from Its junction with the south east bound carriageway of Broad Street (A6) to the point where it joins the south bound carriageway of Albion Way (A5063).
18. Leigh Road (A572), Worsley from a point 27 metres north west of its junction with Walkden Road (A575) to a point 59 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Falconwood Chase.

(ii) to consolidate into the Order the existing on street 50mph speed limits for the following roads:

1. Liverpool Road and Cadishead Way (including the gyratory system) (A57), Eccles and Irlam from a point 308m south west of the south western kerbline of Newlands Avenue to a point 168 metres north of the roundabout with Towngate Way.
2. Cadishead Way (A57), Irlam from The Salford City Council / Warrington Metropolitan Borough Council boundary to a point 122m north of the northern kerbline of Fairhills Road (B5311).

Existing orders have been amended to be consistent with the proposals. The Consolidation Order will come into operation 16 March 2018.

A copy of the order and plan will be available for inspection at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

If you wish to question the validity of the order or of any of the provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the order you may within six weeks from 9 March 2018 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
