Play area improvements at Peel Park, Little Hulton

Salford City Council is asking for your thoughts on proposed play area improvements at Peel Park, Little Hulton. You can give your views by completing the questionnaire below. Please be aware that the play area is for children under 14 years old.

The deadline to complete the questionnaire is 4 April 2025.

The new play equipment will be placed within the footprint of the current fenced place space. All the existing play equipment will be removed except for the cantilever tyre swing.

The proposed play area improvements offer a range of play opportunities for children of different ages and abilities and include:

  • Climbing frame with high slide (2.4 metres high) and challenging climbing elements
  • Climbing frame with low slide (1.2 metres high) and accessible drag ramp and incline
  • climbing net
  • Swinging bars
  • Ground level roundabout
  • Three seat see saw
  • Rotating balancing ring
  • Two springers
  • Rotating dish with dipped lip edge to make it easier for children to move in and out of
  • Two swing frames with flats seats, cradle seats and inclusive seat

The existing tyre swing will remain with all other the play equipment removed.

Situated off Manchester Road West and close to the border of Bolton, Peel Park is one of Salford's oldest parks having first opened to the public in 1910.

The park boasts a wide range of facilities including an outdoor gym, MUGA, Pavillion and children's play area.
