Salford City Council prepared a landscape character assessment for the open countryside and urban fringe areas of Salford based on guidance produced by the Countryside Agency. Landscape descriptions are provided for the four key character types which have been identified (namely rural mosslands, urban mosslands, urban fringe lowland, and urban river valley) and their nine subdivisions. A set of policy objectives and guidelines for the maintenance, enhancement and/or restoration of each area is then provided.
The landscape character assessment is available to download below.
