Salford is a city that has experienced rapid growth in recent years. The local authority began to experience increased demand for primary school places in late 2010. This growth was a result of a rise in birth rate, along with an increase in migration and had a significant impact on school planning. This led to a primary build programme and resulted in the creation of additional primary school places via the expansion of existing primary schools.
The growth previously felt across primary has begun to feed into secondary. To date and in order to meet the growing secondary population, additional secondary places have been created across a number of schools.
The number of additional school places created to date across both primary and secondary can be found by clicking on the school planning area links below. Future projects and changes to schools published admission numbers (PAN’s) will be available to view from the academic year that they come into effect.
