Ofsted data dashboard

Ofsted's (Office for Standards in Education) data dashboard provides a snapshot of performance in a school.

The dashboard can be used by governors and by members of the public to check performance of the school or provider in which they are interested. The guidance documents for using the data dashboards can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

A useful starting point for a conversation about your school's performance data

The data dashboard complements the Ofsted inspection report by providing an analysis of performance data over a three year period and comparisons to other schools or providers.

The data dashboard can act as a useful starting point by governors to generate key questions to support and challenge the leadership team.

Key questions for governors to ask senior leaders include:

  • Is this the picture you were expecting?
  • Are standards rising in reading, writing and mathematics in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2?
  • Are standards rising in English, mathematics and science at Key Stage 4?
  • How is your school performing compared to other schools with similar intakes of pupils?
  • Are there difference between different groups of pupils?
  • Are pupils making the progress expected of them?
  • Has attendance improved over the last three years?
