Most secondary schools hold open evenings or open days during the application period. They are a good chance for parents to experience the school and see what it has to offer their child.
You can take your child with you and see how they feel about the school. Often there is opportunity to meet not only staff, but also pupils from the school, and to hear from the Headteacher.
