'Thresholds of Need and Response in Salford' is published by Salford Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Case transfer between teams within children's services is designed to ensure children and families move up and down across the thresholds as seamlessly and safely as possible.
To refer a child to children's services you should download, complete and submit the appropriate referral form using the secure upload page. The referral form ensures clear information is collected so The Bridge Partnership can determine appropriate next steps.
If you are not sure whether to refer a child to children's services, please call the Bridge Partnership on 0161 603 4500 (from 8.30am to 4.30pm). If you need to speak to somebody about your referral of concern outside these hours, please call the Emergency Duty Team on 0161 794 8888.
Early Help Assessment forms should also be uploaded through the secure upload page. Salford Early Help Assessment Team (EHA) quality assure the assessments and review forms. If a case needs to be discussed to see if it requires screening by Children’s Social Care, the EHA Coordinator will have a conversation with The BRIDGE Partnership about this.
EHA co-ordinators are on hand to support partner agencies to complete Early Help Assessment and review forms, ensure the quality of Early Help Assessments are of a high standard and to assist in chairing some complex TAF meetings.
For all Early Help Assessment and TAF training, please visit EHA and TAF training courses.
Where the social worker closes a case and steps it down to a Team Around the Family meeting (TAF) then a plan will be shared with the family and the professionals involved for them to work together in continuing to meet the identified needs. The social worker will follow the transfer protocol in place for transfer of cases down from children's social care to level 2.
