Team Around the Family meetings

Team Around the Family meetings are where the family and practitioners come together to review the family’s plan. TAF meetings allow a family and practitioners to share and celebrate success, review the desired changes and agree next steps. With the consent of the family, TAF meetings can continue to take place every four to 12 weeks for as long as the family feel they are needed. The minutes of TAF meetings are recorded on an Early Help Review form which is stored on our form and upload page. The family should be provided with a copy of the minutes from each TAF meeting. If the family feel that TAF meetings are no longer needed they should let one of the practitioners they are working with know.

Voice of the Child

The wishes and feelings of the family should be gathered before each TAF meeting to ensure that the family’s thoughts and opinions are considered. Tools that can support professionals to capture the voice of the child can be found on the Salford Safeguarding Children Partnership website.

Chairing/Minuting of TAF Meetings

It is the responsibility of the professionals working with a family to chair and minute TAF meetings. Who will chair and who will minute a TAF meeting should be agree between professionals prior to the meeting and any professional working a family can chair or minute. A guide for professionals on chairing TAF meetings can be found below.
