Enquiries regarding accessing adoption files

Please get in touch with Adoption Counts to access records regarding adoption on 0161 234 5268. For further information you can go to the Adoption Counts website.

Freedom of information requests

If you require information about the council in general this is known as a freedom of information request (FOI). See our freedom of information page for more information.

Data protection requests

If you are an organisation that it requesting information from the council for it’s professional function, this is known as a data protection request. See our data protection requests page for more information.

Complaints procedure for information rights requests

This will include timeliness, application of exemptions, and content of disclosure.

Your complaint will be dealt with as soon as possible. If, as part of your complaint you request further information, this will be dealt with as a new information rights request.

Applicants who are not happy with the outcome of the complaint may ask the Information Commissioner to review the request and the way the council has dealt with it. The council will provide assistance and information to the Information Commissioner.
