As a public sector organisation, Salford City Council is required to work to Procurement Legislation applying to contracts above given thresholds in line with Procurement Act 2023. The Find high value contracts in the public sector - GOV.UK, Find a Tender Service (FTS) is where tender opportunities above the OJEU thresholds must be advertised.
Current threshold values are as follows (effective 1 January 2024):
The Procurement Act 2023 clearly outline the procedures and standards to be followed by the city council when undertaking a tender exercise and awarding contracts with the emphasis on transparency and competition. Where the value of contracts is below FTS thresholds, the council's contractual standing orders (part of the council's constitution - part 5, section B) are applied when undertaking quotation or tender exercises and procurement legislation followed.
