Births, marriages and deaths

The council is responsible for the registration of births, marriages and deaths, and the issuing of birth, marriage and death certificates, for the Salford registration district.

We also conduct civil marriage ceremonies, including civil partnerships and marriages in licensed premises. Registration appointments for Salford residents are now available each Wednesday at Broughton Hub.

About the Register Office

The Register Office at Salford Civic Centre is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The last Thursday of each month the Register Office will be closed until 12pm, for staff training.

Usually dogs are welcome too, our Ceremony Room at the Town Hall will now cater for up to two well behaved dogs. We currently need to restrict dogs attending whilst we are maintaining safety measures within the Town Hall, due to the pandemic.
