These messages are designed to provide helpful information, reminders, and guidance so you have everything you need to manage your business rates  account with confidence.

Why we might contact you:

We may contact you for several reasons, such as:

  • Advising you have missed a payment
  • Informing you that your account is in arrears and giving you the opportunity to settle before the council instructs Manchester Magistrates Court to issue a court summons
  • Offering services such as paperless e-billing to help you manage your account
  • Asking for your feedback on how we can improve Salford’s Business Rates service

How to recognise our calls or messages:

  • Calls will come from 0161 793 2929
  • If you receive a call from this number, it is not a scam
  • Emails will come from ndrdocman@salford.gov.uk 

Can I call this number back?

  • You can only call this number if we have contacted you first
  • It will not accept calls from unrecognised numbers
  • For all other enquiries, call our main Business Rates line:
    0161 793 2500 (Option 1, then Option 3) Available 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) or 
  • Use the Live Chat facility on any Business Rates page on this website
