Key teaching and educational staff who work within early years settings where children are suspected to have sensory needs that are impacting their engagement.

Course description

A two-part course facilitated by Occupational Therapists that is designed for teaching and educational staff to gain a better understanding of sensory processing difficulties and to consider the impact this may have in relation to children in their setting.

Outcomes

  • This course is designed for key education-based staff who are working closely with early years foundation stage aged children with suspected sensory needs. 
  • The focus of the webinars will be to increase awareness and understanding of sensory processing and the impacts on the child’s function and engagement in daily tasks and learning environments.  
  • Using an interactive approach to aid understanding of your child’s individual sensory needs and exploring how to meet those needs using low level age-appropriate strategies and activities.
