What is Salford’s SEND participation group?
Our Participation Group is a small group of Parent Carers who meet on a monthly basis to work on Salford PCF workstreams and projects that are important to them. They help create change in the SEND system, improve access to support for families, and influence decision making with partner agencies. No experience required, Salford PCF will support anyone who wants to get involved. Our volunteers really do make a huge difference!
What we can offer
Salford PCF will:
- Pay any out of pocket expenses (including travel costs and childcare)
- Provide a working lunch
- Ensure your views are heard
- Support you to attend
- Peer support and a supportive community
- Influence local decision making
How to join
We would love to have more members to share ideas, explore new workstreams and work on on-going projects.
How often do we meet?
We meet once a month at Eccles Gateway, 11am to 1pm

Join Salford Parent Carer Forum
Anyone who is a parent or carer of a child or young person with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) living in Salford can join the Salford Parent Carer Forum. Whether your child has a diagnosed condition, is awaiting assessment, or you simply have concerns, you are welcome. The forum is open, free, and inclusive – bringing families together to share experiences, access support, and have a stronger voice in shaping local services.
Salford’s SEND Information Day
Salford PCF would like to invite you to their fourth Annual SEND Information Day.

Confirmed attendees include You Can, CAMHS, A Little Extra, Salford’s Local Offer, Preparation for Adult Life team, Skills and Work, Starting Life Well, Salford’s Educational Psychology Team and lots of Post 16 Education Providers.
This is a great opportunity for families to meet with professionals, find out what support services are available, and hear more about our work.
