Salford Youth Service run the Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) award at The Deans Centre, Swinton on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month 6pm to 8pm, this is open to any young person in Salford in year 9 and above.
The sessions are staffed by youth workers who have a wide range of experience in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and outdoor activities. The sessions are very relaxed and informal where you can get advice, guidance and expedition training. The camp craft training sessions cover all aspects needed for you to complete your expedition and are run as a rolling programme so you can join at any point.

If you are in Year 9 or above, then you can get involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s award and you have till your 25th birthday to complete it.
By starting your D of E award you are giving yourself a better chance of getting that college, university place or job in the future. You will gain key life skills whilst having a great experience which will stay with you for the rest of your life.

For each level of the award you need to complete a skill, physical and volunteering section. For the gold award there is an extra residential section to complete.
