We are a group of young people who are in or have been in care. We meet every other Monday evening in person to help make change and help to improve the future for other cared for children and young people.
We think young people should join the Fight for Change Council to help other young people who don't or can't speak out for themselves.
If you would like the opportunity to meet with city leaders who effect your life and influence policy relating to cared for children and care leavers, or you have an issue you would like Fight for Change to raise on your behalf, please contact Martyn Shaw on 07872 416964 or email martyn.shaw@salford.gov.uk.
FFCC have made many achievements including:
At FFCC we want to see an end to racism.
We are all equal and should treat people fairly.
We believe that everyone should be treated with respect, no matter what race, religion or belief they have.
Even though we may not look or speak the same way, we are all human.
We are here in this world to feel good and happy about ourselves and to be safe. People should not have to live their lives in fear of people treating them differently.
We will discourage and challenge racist language and abuse in our community and on social media.
We promise to learn about racism and educate others. Through education we are able to learn about others who have been able to take a stand to change the world.
We encourage other young people to join us and stand together to make a real change!
