What is Youth Day?
Youth Day is an annual day of activities coordinated by our Youth Council and Youth Mayor.
Events are organised by young people, for young people across the city.
It aims to showcase the important contribution made by 11-to 25-year-olds in all aspects of life in Salford. We know our young people make a positive difference to our city, and we want to capture and celebrate this.
Youth Day 2024: Make a Noise!
Every year, our Youth Day celebrations have grown, with more young people showcasing the positive impact they have on their communities. This year's theme is 'Make a Noise' – a call to celebrate loudly and continue to listen to the young people of Salford.
We want all young people, youth centres, and local groups that work with young people to be involved, delivering their own events during the week beginning Monday 12 August 2024. Share your photos with us using the hashtag #makenoise

Salford Youth Service
The Salford Youth Service is an informal education service working with young people aged ten to 25 years to ensure every young person in Salford reaches their full potential. We have lots of great activities all year round for young people, including:
- Open youth centre sessions
- Young Women's Groups
- BLM groups
- LGBTQI+ groups
- Bike maintenance sessions
- Youth Council
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (D of E)

Salford Youth Pride 2024
Join Us for Salford Youth Pride 2024!
Salford Youth Pride is back! Young people from across Salford’s LGBTQI+ youth groups will come together to celebrate with other amazing young people in Salford. This event will take place on Thursday 8 August 2024, from 10am to 3pm at The Deans Centre, Deans Road, Swinton, M27 0HZ.
Event highlights:
- Workshops and activities: Drag workshop, sports, photography, drama, arts and crafts, and more!
- Meet city leaders: A walk to the Civic Centre to meet the City Mayor and other city leaders.
- Pride celebrations: Return to The Deans for a party, campfire, and music!
This is a free ticketed event and is open to any young people across Salford between the ages of 11 and 17.

Salford LGBTQI+ youth groups
Get involved with Salford’s LGBTQI+ youth groups, which are safe spaces for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) young people. Activities include trips, cooking, arts and crafts. The groups meet at:
- Monday nights: Bridgewater Youth Centre, Little Hulton, M38 9WD, 5.30pm to 8pm
- Tuesday nights: Eccles Youth Centre, Eccles, M30 0WY, 5.30pm to 8pm
- Wednesday nights: The Deans centre, Swinton, M27 0HZ, 5.30pm to 8pm
- Thursday nights: The Beacon Centre, Broughton, M6 6QT, 5.30pm to 8pm
- T and Toast – Trans youth group and parent group, the Beacon centre, M6 6QT, 1.30pm to 3.30pm (Every third Sunday of the month)
