Sign in or register for an accountIf you or your family and friends are deaf, have hearing loss or have difficulty speaking, and need support when dealing with Salford City Council, we offer a free video call service. Working in partnership with the digital BSL interpreting service, SignLive, we can enable d/Deaf residents to be able to contact council services by telephone.
A Video Relay Service (VRS) utilises video call software to connect a d/Deaf individual to an interpreter via video call. The interpreter will then phone the required service on behalf of the individual and relay the conversation.
d/Deaf individuals can now call Salford City Council using SignLive’s Video Relay Service where you can communicate with the council in real-time over a digital application such as a smart phone or laptop via one of the organisation’s sign-language interpreters. If you are a BSL user you can use the service free of charge.
If you have never used SignLive before you will need to register. This will make sure your account is secure and allow them to call you back if needed.
You can access SignLive through the free app available through iOS and Android or log in via the web browser and find Salford City Council in the Community Directory, press the ‘call’ button to get connected for free.
