Are you a business?

We’re here to help Salford businesses thrive. As Salford City Council’s skills and work team we work across all business sectors and directly with local people looking for work.

We know it can be time consuming and costly to find and train the right staff. We can help you find and hire those staff using our local knowledge and contacts.

But don’t forget, apprenticeships are not just for young people these days.

You can use apprenticeship funding towards giving a young person a start on the career ladder or towards training costs for an established member of staff - even up to degree level.

Financial support to help you employ and train an apprentice

The citywide Salford Skills for Business Apprenticeship Fund helps small to medium sized organisations meet the cost of apprenticeship training. It’s backed by local organisations and has already helped over 24 organisations train the skilled people they need.

Your organisation may also be eligible for £3000 towards the costs of employing a new apprenticeship as part of the #SeeDifferent apprenticeship campaign to stimulate the demand for apprenticeships across Greater Manchester.
