Salford City Council is asking for your thoughts on the proposed refurbishment of the Outdoor Gym. You can give your views by completing the questionnaire below.
Questionnaire for outdoor gym equipment at Ordsall Park, Salford
The outdoor gym is an important feature within the park, providing free and accessible opportunities for people to improve their health and wellbeing. Over time, the existing equipment has become worn and items have been removed as they've reached the end of their useful life, creating an opportunity to refresh and modernise the facility.
Refurbishing the outdoor gym will:
Provide a safe, modern, and welcoming space for exercise and recreation.
Encourage people of all abilities to be more active and spend time outdoors.
Improve physical and mental wellbeing by increasing opportunities for free outdoor fitness.
Support healthier lifestyles and help reduce barriers to participating in exercise.
Enhance the overall park environment, making it a more attractive place to visit.
Encourage greater use of the park and provide opportunities for social interaction and community engagement.
Protect and improve a valued community asset, ensuring it can continue to be enjoyed for years to come.
By investing in the outdoor gym, we aim to enhance the park's role as a place where residents can come together, stay active, and enjoy high-quality public open space.
We would welcome your views on the proposed improvements. The closing date for responses is 21 September 2026.
Please be aware the Outdoor Gym is designed for adults.
