Sign in or register for an accountThe community infrastructure levy is a mechanism which enables local authorities to raise financial contributions from developers undertaking new building projects within their area. The financial contributions raised can be used to fund a wide range of infrastructure that is needed as a result of development across the city.
The city council has not yet commenced formal preparation of a community infrastructure levy charging schedule but will keep the need for this under review. If you wish to be notified of future progress on the community infrastructure levy please contact us using the details below and we will add your details to our database.
The council currently raises financial contributions from new development via planning obligations. The planning obligations supplementary planning document expands on the saved policies of the unitary development plan to provide additional guidance on the use of planning obligations and the approach to calculating financial requirements.
