The consultation closed on Saturday 7 March 2026. Thanks to everyone that took part in the consultation, we're now looking at the responses.
We invited parents, carers, young people with SEND, professionals, and partner organisations to share their views on Salford’s proposed changes to our Post-16 School Transport Policy. This draft policy set out changes to our transport offer for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) ages 16 to 25.
We know that any proposed changes to home to school transport support can be worrying. We wrote to people whose child/children currently used local authority arranged transport arrangements to make them aware of the consultation.
We offered face-to-face and online drop-in sessions.
Please note, any proposed changes will not affect those who are already in Post-16 education, Year 12 and above.
The deadline to give us your feedback was Saturday 7 March 2026.
The draft post-16 transport policy has the proposed changes highlighted in yellow. Translations and special formats are available on request, subject to consideration. If you require an alternative format, please contact transportconsultation@salford.gov.uk.
