Outline Terms and Conditions for the design competition

1. Competition overview

Salford City Council Public Health Team are inviting young people aged 11 to 16-years to design a poster to help raise awareness of the importance of the HPV vaccination in young people.

2. Eligibility

Participants must be aged 11 to 16 and live in Salford or attend a Salford school.

3. How to enter

Designs can be submitted via email or in person at all Salford City Council, Gateways and Family Hubs. Competition opens from 25 April. Deadline for submissions 5pm, Monday 16 June 2025.

4. Competition guidelines

Theme and message of the poster must promote HPV health awareness in a creative and engaging way. Designs must be appropriate for display to all members of the public.

Design must be submitted as an A4 jpeg (a minimum resolution of 1754px x 1240px) to healthprotection@salford.gov.uk  

Paper designs can also be submitted at any of the Salford City Council Gateways. Please include your name, the best way to be contacted if you win (telephone or email and the name of your school (optional). 

5. Judging criteria

Entries will be judged based on creativity, effectiveness, clarity of message by a panel of Salford City Council health and marketing experts. 

6. Prizes

• First prize: £100 Love2Shop vouchers plus see your designs included in our Salford’s HPV vaccination campaign
• Two runner-up prizes: £75.00 Love2Shop vouchers each 

7. Announcement of winners

Winners will be notified by email or the method provided by the participant shortly after the closing date, and once all entries have been reviewed and shortlisted.

8. Rights and usage

Participants retain rights but grant the Salford City Council permission to use the designs for the promotional purposes stated in the competition.

Declaration of originality: Participants must confirm the work is their own.

9. Privacy and data protection

Any personal data collected will used for the purpose of the HPV poster design competition only and not shared with any third party without written consent.

10. Amendments and cancellations

We reserve the right to amended or cancel the competition at any time and commit to notify participants of any changes.

11. Acceptance of terms

By entering the competition, participants agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined.
