Delivery of Nomination Papers

  1. Nomination Papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the Elections Office, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA on any day from the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Friday 5 April 2024.

Nomination Papers

  1. Nomination Papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer’s Elections Team, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA during the times stated above.

Poll

  1. If any election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 2 May 2024.

Registering to vote

  1. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 16 April 2024. Applications may be sent directly via the online voter registration service.
  2. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April 2024.
    Applications may be sent directly via the online postal vote service.
  3. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024. Applications for certificate/document can be made online.
  4. Applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton by 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Applications may be sent directly via the online proxy vote service.

  1. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton by 5pm on Thursday 2 May 2024.

The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024.
