We have listened to your views and found out more about ‘what matters to you’ and now we want your views on our proposals to balance our budget for 2019/20.
The council’s target has been £15.2 million. To balance the budget this needs to be covered by savings, cuts or income. This target has been reduced to £13.06 million as detailed financial projections have progressed.
To reduce, as far as possible, the impact on front line services, the council has worked hard to identify ways to make one off savings, find alternative funding for some services, make further efficiencies in buying goods and services and increase income.
All of these measures have successfully reduced the overall proposals which impact on services (£ millions).
Proposals have been developed to balance the budget. You can see those proposals and submit comments and views on as many of these proposals as you wish by 11.59pm on Sunday 20 January 2019.
In autumn 2016 we asked for your views on what our priorities should be for the city. In autumn 2018 we went back out to different areas of the city to ask for your ideas and views to help us shape our budget proposals for next two years. Please watch our quick video for the background and read our report about your top five themes.
